Lithium carbonate[]

Formula: Li2CO3[]

Description: A white powder. It is used to make the chloride, which dissolved in methanol makes a very effective red burning liquid fuel for coloured fire lamps and other special uses. Some use has been made in solid fueled pyrotechnic composition, but the colour is easily destroyed, and Strontium not only gives a better colour but is usually cheaper.

Sources: It can still be bought at the ceramics supplier.

Hazards Lithium is a rare example of an inorganic drug. A dose above that recommended by a medical professional can cause permanent damage. Note that it has no recreational value.
